Redify Inc. has developed a mobile app scanner that informs consumers of potentially harmful chemicals in everyday consumer products simply by scanning the product's barcode.

In products containing potentially harmful chemicals, the app will list how many, then present alternative of similar products containing fewer or no harmful chemicals for user consideration. This in essence puts consumer in charge of what ingredients they would tolerate (or not) in their products, as opposed to relying on the government or manufacturers to determine ingredient safety. Currently there is no other app that does this. There is the preeminence website, ewg (Environmental Working Group) and their corresponding app, Health Living. This non-profit organization’s app focuses mainly on hazardous chemicals in cosmetics and food products. But, they don’t provide safer alternatives being that they are not-for-profit advocacy organization. Likewise, Think Dirty and their app with similar name, focuses solely on consumer products like cosmetic. Redify app on the other hand, is designed to scan most consumer package goods (i.e. products with barcode), globally. While our competition’s app does identify harmful ingredients in products, the app does not provide their users with alternatives. Even with the limitations of Healthy Living and Think Dirty apps (and similar others), their combined daily activities are in the millions. This indicates that the demand for information about the ingredients of consumer products is strong and necessitate our entry into this ecosystem.

CHC Facts

  • Many consumer products today contain a number of man-made chemicals that interfere with our body’s normal function and produce adverse effects including hormonal, developmental, reproductive, neurological and immune effects in humans. Collectively, we call these man-made chemicals, Chemicals of Health Concern™ (CHCs).
  • Scientific research shows that prolonged exposure to these CHCs leads to increased risk of various types of cancers, infertility, fetal development defects, hormonal imbalances, immune deficiency, hyper allergic responses, childhood obesity, autism, ADD and ADHD, learning deficits, and much more.
  • The Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the agency responsible for protecting public health by assuring the safety of consumer products, cannot compel product testing (except coloring agents) before they are sold to the public.
  • The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the government agency that regulates household cleaning products, says that they do not have the legal authority to test or certify products for safety before they can be sold to consumers.
  • This legal loophole has allowed manufacturers to keep using untested chemicals in their product formulation until health concerns arises, essentially making consumer their guinea pigs
  • We seek to develop a revolutionary free mobile application that empowers users to make informed decision of the safety of products they consume
  • How It Works

Redify's app works in three basic steps

    1

    SCAN

Consumers use the app to scanany bar-coded products, primarily consumer package goods.

    2

    REPORT

The app reports whether the product contains Chemicals of Health Concern or CHCs and if so how many.

    3

    ALTERNATIVES

Pushing Alternative button presents alternative products containing fewer or no CHCs that are available in the store where the consumer is standing as well as others online.

    Who Are We?

Redify Inc. is a technology startup that has built a fully functional mobile application that empowers consumers to make informed health decisions about the products they purchase. The app works simply by scanning any bar-coded product worldwide, and the app determines whether the product contains CHCs or not. If it does, the app provides alternative products in form of in-app ads for user consideration.

Redify app makes it essentially pointless for users to keep reading product label to try to decipher whether it’s ingredient formulation poses health risk or not; the app simply identifies CHC in products, gives you alternatives, and you decided whether to purchase the tainted product or it’s alternatives.

    Investment Opportunity

We currently need to raise $500,000.00 to build a monetizable fully functional redify app for North America. $250,000.00 of this sum would go to the development of the app. $100,000.00 would go for licenses and purchase of 3rd party cpg database. $150,000.00 would go for operational cost. Once we demonstrate userbility and monetization of the app, we can go to VC to raise the sum needed to scale into exponential growth. Investment exits are expected in three to five years after the launch of fully functional app.
